The area of Monterey, California, and nearby Carmel-By-The-Sea and Pebble Beach are influenced by the days when Monterey was a holding of Mexico.  The cobbled streets and mission style homes are complimented by chic restaurants and wonderful art shops.  Nearby is Cannery Row, Monterey Museum of Art, and of course the Monterey Bay Aquarium where the prime attraction is the otters.
